The State of Michigan has aggressive economic and tax incentive programs for qualified tenants. The MEGA Tax Credit program offers discretionary tax credits against the Michigan Business Tax including up to one hundred percent of employee withholding taxes each year for up to twenty years. In addition, the communities have the ability to offer property tax abatements for new real and personal property investment. The extent of these incentive opportunities depends on the regional competition and potential business assumptions for payroll, total jobs, and level of investment.
Under Michigan’s Wetland Protection Act, a permit is required for the following activities:
Deposit or permit the placing of fill material in a wetland
Drain surface water from a wetland
Dredge, remove, or permit removal of soil or minerals from a wetland
Construct, operate, or maintain any use of development in a wetland

The Local Development Finance Authority of Huron Township recently unveiled a new digital Huron Township Police street sign. This sign was installed as a solution for several incidents of residents trying to locate the Police department at night.
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) joined students from across Southeast Michigan to kick off National Manufacturing Day, a nationwide effort to draw greater attention to modern manufacturing and the career opportunities available in the manufacturing sector. Dingell and Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) introduced a bipartisan resolution this week designating October 2 as National Manufacturing Day.
Representatives Debbie Dingell (MI-12) and Candice Miller (MI-10) this week introduced a bipartisan resolution designating Friday, October 2, 2015 as ‘‘National Manufacturing Day.” The resolution recognizes the critical role manufacturing plays in the United States economy and honors the hardworking men and women of the manufacturing sector.
