Applefest in Huron Township will be your local hot spot for puppet shows, an old time Fiddlers Contest, 1 – 5 and 10K runs, pie eating contests, parades, live music, old car show, as well as art and craft exhibits; October 2nd through October 3rd. The Applefest invites families ranging of all ages to come join in on the old fashioned fun and Fall themed festivities!
Perhaps the most exciting part of the Applefest is the 25th Annual Michigan State Championship Old-Time Fiddlers Contest. Fiddler contestants must play a waltz, a schottische, a jig and a reel in a manner suitable to Michigan old-time dancing!
The 31st annual event will take place Saturday, October 2; from 9:00am to 8:00pm, and Sunday, October 3; from 9:00am to 6:00pm at 37283 Huron River Drive in New Boston.
All money and proceeds from the festival are donated back into the community.
80,000 patrons are expected to attend the fair.
Are you somebody looking to spruce up your life with a little Fall cheer? Or are you a high school/college student looking for more event planning experience?
The Applefest invites anyone who would like to dedicate their time. The common goal for volunteers is to put on a city wide event that will showcase the friendly spirit that exists within the downriver community. Volunteers are instructed to contact the festival committee for further information by emailing to firstname.lastname@example.org, or calling (734)753-3378.
