The Local Development Finance Authority of Huron Township recently unveiled a new digital Huron Township Police street sign. This sign was installed as a solution for several incidents of residents trying to locate the Police department at night.
“Even with the street lights, it is hard to see where the Police Station is due to the set back of the offices off Huron River Road.” Said Police Chief Everett Robins, “We appreciate the sign that was donated by the LDFA.”
The LED sign will provide dual purpose. “Because the Police Department is located on LDFA1 property, our trustees believe that it could promote businesses in this area,” said R.P. Lilly, LDFA Chairman. “It will also provide awareness for the Police Station and ability to change community messages with the quickly.” The LDFA is funded through tax increment capture from the businesses within the district.
In Huron Township’s Local Development Finance Authority district, the LDFA1 has contributed eight hundred manufacturing jobs in the past year and LDFA2 is considered a smart zone as well which is hopeful to attract even more new business. The Local Development Finance Authority Huron Township, MI is a beacon for economic growth in the area. More information at www.hurontwpldfa.com .
