Brose North America Inc. President Jan Kowal and Huron Township (New Boston) plant general manager Jörg Graichen, Huron Township officials along with LDFA members celebrated the grand opening of the auto supplier’s newest plant in the metro Detroit.
The company marked the opening on September 26th of their third Michigan facility in Huron Township, not far from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
The North American arm of the global German parts supplier announced plans two years ago to purchase the plant. Now, it’s ready and according to Brose, the opening has resulted in 450 new Michigan jobs.
Brose is a partner to the international automobile industry and supplies around 80 car brands and over 30 suppliers with electric motors and mechatronic systems for vehicle doors, liftgates and seat structures. The family-owned company employs close to 22,000 people at 57 locations in 23 countries. Its current business volume totals 5 billion Euros. Brose is one of the top 40 automotive suppliers in the world and is the fifth largest family-owned company in the industry.
