Mr. William Hunter, General Manager at Brose, New Boston presented an update of the Brose facility expansion to the Huron Township Local Development Finance Authority at their September board meeting.
The expansion which resulted in the purchase of the adjacent property was in response to a projected 400% increase in their seat business. The plan includes a vertical integration with an automated high bay, a 1,000 meter paint line, employee locker rooms, additional parking for 600 new employees, preparation space for five hundred hot, employee meals and an on-site daycare facility.
The construction is scheduled to begin in November and will take twelve months to install the paint lines.
The company will also be in process of hiring six hundred employees by 2019. Staffing will be attained thru temporary agencies and those making it through the 30-90 probationary period will be hired as a full time Brose employee, with benefits. These positions will vary from engineers, front office, cam operators and laser technicians as well as maintenance and other full-time positions.
