Huron Township Students Create Art in the Park

For the second year, students from the Huron Township schools will participate in Michigan Memorial Park’s “Art in the Park” project to honor our country’s veterans. From May 26 until June 5, the patriotic-themed artwork created by elementary, middle and high school students can be seen at the entrance of Michigan Memorial Park (MMPlocated at 32163 W. Huron River Drive in Flat Rock.

Each piece of artwork will be labeled with the artist’s name and grade. Over 1000 pieces are expected to be available for viewing.

“We hope that visitors to Michigan Memorial Park during Memorial Day weekend and beyond will take a few minutes to view the work of the budding artists. It’s a very meaningful recognition and we are proud to partner with our schools in this endeavor,” said Kelly Dwyer, president of MMP  “We also hope that people will visit our Family Service office at the entrance of the park to learn more about other activities including our ‘Free Little Library’ and our walking club.”

Set on the banks of the Huron River, family owned and operated Michigan Memorial Park has served families in southeast Michigan since 1926. A complete range of burial, interment and cremation options are available.
